No, it's you who are wrong. You clearly do not know anyone who has contracted the disease, I know several. If you want to deliberately expose yourself to test your theory, be our guest...just don't take other innocents down with you in your social experiment.

Did you personally review the medical records of all 23 million cases of Covid to come to that conclusion?

Of the few people I personally know that caught it, myocarditis is something that had developed in a few, even with mild symptoms. A number of studies have found it present in college athletes who have recovered from the virus. It can be very dangerous.

Same condition as Eduardo Rodriguez who is only 27.

This isn't 0.1% or so coming down with this condition, but some studies allude to 15% of young people who recover from mild covid show signs of this heart condition.

No amount of data you bring to the discussion is going to convince a Fox News science denier. They’re raised from birth to believe in fantasy. Santa Claus. The tooth fairy. The Easter Bunny. Man and dinosaurs walked the earth at the same time. Alternative facts. 20,000+ false or misleading claims. It’s a total suspension of critical thought.

I've been watching my father organically shed many of his long term friendships, despite great efforts not to, due to his friends becoming increasingly entrenched in their 'alternative news' ... and extremely combative when defending it.

I don't think those hunkered down in a rational, moderate left/right, or progressive enclaves really understand or appreciate what decades of "them" talk has created ... some very unempathetic people. I certainly didn't appreciate the scale, despite having some very conservative family members.

There are already Supreme court rulings on vaccinations that confirm the power of authorities to vaccinate people. I doubt the court is willing to put on a lab-coat and scientifically question the flu vaccine.

There is a pretty widespread system of fostering this stuff. I was travelling in a more remote section of New England for work and no FM stations were coming in well and I flipped through AM... landed on a station that one segment was a religious show discussing how research on mitochondrial dna proves that life is thousands of years old, not millions, and since this proves the bibles claims on life... we can believe it on everything. The next hour had a call in talk show and one of the callers was proudly going on about how none of his children or grandchildren have ever been vaccinated.

Truly scary.

Ah, the fringe element is alive and well. A bit off-topic I know, but just watch as more Q-Anon candidates get into public office nationally...it'll get worse before (or even if) it gets better.

I used to feel that Flat Earth theory was just a running gag that people jokingly kept going. Then, I started to realize that some people really do believe it to be true.

Any trip down social media and you will see other people who really do take the "don't trust the gov't/authorities/scientists" mentality a little too far claiming things like a plane crash as totally CGI with the people on board fabricated in order to push some sort of far-out agenda.

I don't get it. I myself tend to live by a "think for yourself, question what you are told" sort of mentality. I like to do my own research and apply logic, but some of these far-fetched theories completely defy logic.

On the flip side, the other side does it too. I have been reading the N.Y. Times and Washington Post condemnations of convalescent plasma therapy emergency approval by the FDA. My sister owns that project in Canada. It’s a totally reasonable treatment of last resort for someone in the ICU on a vent. They’re already 80% likely to die. Sure, any transfusion can end badly but there’s pretty good science behind lending someone your immune system and the trials have had success stories. This isn’t something you give everyone if they test positive for COVID-19. It’s the last thing you try if nothing else works and they’re probably going to die.

Same thing with their campaign against hydroxychloroquine.
