I read another article this morning that he was involved in that whole Sonia Farkas drug testing scenario:

Yes, doesn't seem like a great example of public service here. Sounds more self-serving than anything else.

Not sure what to think...i dont think anyone saw the sonia farkas thing coming...then the guy has a pool party at his house and a 17 yr old drowned. He probably didnt feel the need to sit and watch the pool like it was a bunch of 8 year olds in there. seems like some bad luck for him

In Baltimore, these officers are simply arrested. No ongoing anything. Just straight-up arrested for amounts as small as $1,064

In Boston, everything is an unnecessarily long bureaucratic proccess.

Arrested for what? Because someone drowned in his pool? I have never heard that is what typically happens when someone drowns in a pool you own.

The OT fraud is different...still not sure it should be an arrested offense...definitely should be charges but arrested I dont know...

Depends on the circumstances. For a drowning alone, probably not. If there were other criminal circumstances that attributed to the drowning, certainly. In this case, the charges are: "giving alcohol to people under 21 and reckless endangerment of a child." Both misdemeanors. If you're an adult and you host an event where anyone under 21 is drinking and something happens to them, it's almost a certainty that you're going to be charged.

I guess this could be placed on the pool yes or no thread as reasons not to get a pool, ha.

I mean thousands of people have pool parties like this one and no one drowns. This one feels like an odd circumstance and guy who happens to be a former cop is going to be in trouble. I can't help but feel sorry for him.

It similar to parents hosting an event where there's alcohol and an underaged person drives home, crashes their car and dies. again happens often and no one dies. I think it comes back to the social host law.
