DA Rollins is welcoming all legal challenges involving arrests with said cops -says they’re integrity is tarnished.

It's funny how 'but was it racist?' is used as a way to deescalate the concern. It should be used to emphasize the problem. Look, the police can invade your home without telling you and if you try to defend yourself kill you with impunity. And you don't even have to be black! It can happen to anyone! So that makes it ok.

Was it racist? On a scale from "not racist at all" to "something that happened only because of race" it's somewhere in-between. We'll never know exactly how much, because I doubt the principals really know how much. Was race a factor in getting and executing a no-knock warrant? Was race a factor in how aggressive the officers were breaking down the door? On what has happened in the aftermath? How racist someone thinks the incident is probably says as much about them as the actual details of the case.

Bringing this back on track. We give police officers extraordinary power. They need to be held to a higher standard, especially when it comes to following the law, not a lower one.

Of course she did. Well maybe she’ll get her way and more criminals will be free as a result of this.

I just think fudging some overtime so you get a slightly bigger paycheck isn’t worthy of embarrassment they’re all being put through now.

It’s not a love fest but What do you care if others support police? Plenty of people support criminals.

These cops are criminals, as are many others, so it seems like you have your bases covered.

The criminal labor union is exceptional.

Why shouldn’t cops have a union? Teachers, nurses, carpenters, plumbers and electricians do too. The university I work at has a clerical union as well.
