Framingham isn’t the boonies. They aren’t getting a SFH closer to Boston for less, so being recalled to the office seems unlikely. Without some serious and invasive investigation we aren’t ever going to know. Such a quick turn around could mean a job transfer or untimely death.

That's where I was heading.

That's kind of what I was thinking... but that would get pretty expensive.

One thing I would worry about if you were considering buying something like this it is that they found something that is really wrong and/or super expensive to fix and is trying to cover it up.

Or it could be something as mundane as a job transfer or divorce

True. I think sometimes people forget that sometimes a house just has to be sold.

You would think that if they thought either was going to happen, esp within 2 months, overpaying for a house in Framingham is not something you would be thinking about doing. Although maybe a divorce over overpaying?

I agree that a job transfer so soon would be stupidity and poor planning.

Divorce can happen anytime really. Maybe a love-child found their father through a google alert. The home sale publically listed their name and after 10 years of searching, they arrived on the front doorstep of an overpriced home in Framingham to reveal their father's wrongdoing and dropped a bombshell on the family. Now they are picking up the pieces and selling their dreamhome. A family torn apart. So sad.

We can speculate all day

wow you really got into that lol

Or maybe the couple can't stand each other and just need to sell the house to get the money and go their own ways.

I'm going with the Witness Protection Program angle.
