I love watching competent council cross examine. Especially law enforcement. Does anybody remember when Alan Jackson had Heather Unruh on on the stand in the Kevin Spacey trial. Pure gold.

Anyone have any thoughts so far? I really think this case has turned into a mess. A lot of people think a mistrial will be declared. Regardless of what happens it seems like this was a relationship that should have ended long before this incident happened.

I've thought from the beginning that she did kill him, accidentally. But thanks to Proctor's incompetence and interference, it'll either be a mistrial or she'll get acquitted.

This is how I feel. I've never bought the theories that she was framed. But I do think the investigation was mishandled and the defense has muddied the waters a enough to get her off the hook.

Yes. It seems questionable as to whether they were really even 'together' when this happened. He was kissing someone in Aruba on NYE and she was kissing someone else two weeks later...surely she had some anger towards him the night this happened.

it was pointed out they had dated in 2004...then reconnected in 2020 during covid. 1 - that's a long time later to reconnect. 2. I can't help but question the stability of a relationship that began in covid (some lawyers on court tv had the same thoughts). On paper she looks pretty good, but doesn't seem particularly stabile...and the woman O'keefe dated before Read had some deep issues as well

I also wonder if Read has decided to give up alcohol. Doesn't seem to be helping her life much.

Just tragic and I feel so sorry for the niece and nephew. What a turbulent life they've had so far.

I haven't seen any evidence pointing to her being an alcoholic, have you? Also, the injuries he sustained just don't seem to be from a vehicle. How does anyone explain the scratches on the arm? A car can do those?

I don't think we've seen the autopsy report yet. That will tell a lot.

Welp, she was drinking and driving during a snowstorm...I can't imagine that was her first encounter with booze. There are many different ways to describe an alcoholic i suppose, but some might say that if it's interfering with your life in a negative way there might be a problem. I'd say alcohol has created some big issues for her regardless of what happened.

Maybe she scratched him?
