I just saw this on 7 News. I’ve driven through the area a bunch. Maybe you can argue adequate warning isn’t there for the low clearance overpass. It’s clearly marked but it seems like you can drive a bunch in that area without having to worry about anything similar happening. Of course I drive a Toyota Corolla and the guy stuck there is in a big rig, so you could also argue he ought to me more aware of his surroundings. Plus, the nature of those low clearance areas seems to be they pop up fairly randomly.

Still, I felt bad for the driver. 7 News was trying to interview him and had him on camera but of course he was annoyed and just told them to have a nice day. From what I could tell there was enough clearance but there are also power lines around the area. Those contributed to the big rig getting stuck. They also mentioned that neighbors complain this has happened too often. It’s concerning that it’s happened multiple times, never mind too often. I hope the driver doesn’t get fired.

I know infrastructure problems have been talked about nationwide lately. In a place as rich as Weston you would figure if anyone would have such problems worked out by now, it’d be them.

I don't think the town is responsible for that bridge, it's for the commuter rail so MBTA?

The bridge is owned by either the MBTA or CSX.

It is signed for 11'-3" a few hundred feet back on each side. The bridge is marked low clearance. The truck was over 13' tall.

Looks like driver error to me.

Yep. Probable paying more attention to his GPS than the road signs and actual surroundings in general. All too common...

And if he was using a GPS, it wasn't one designed for trucks. Those keep trucks off of restricted roads.

The low bridge around the corner from N. Billerica Commuter Rail Station has its share of annual truck accidents too.

The train overpasses have been around since the 1840s . a few in Lowell and Billerica since late 1820s,only a dozen years after the Lewis & Clark Expedition.
They were built to get cloth ,south to Boston by train,at the start of the Industrial Revolution .

It's a steep hill with a tight curve. In bad weather that's not a good way to go in a car. Let alone a giant truck.
