On the flip side, now that I sit back and think about it, i've had folks do the same to me when i've tried to LEGALLY pass them on a road with a dotted line and designated passing zone up in NH or ME. I've had more than a few situations where I'll be across the road and almost along-side and all the sudden hear the other car's engine pick up.
Kind of reminds me of the people who tootle along in the left passing lane of 128 obstructing all the traffic and then speeding up whenever anyone gets a chance to get past them.

Yup. I've had that happen as well. Guess nobody wants to get passed.

I remember commenting on someone's driving style once by saying "how come you never use blinkers" to which they replied "It's so that people don't know I'm changing lanes and won't block me". I thought it was silly but I started paying attention and I have noticed when folks put on their blinker and then start to gradually move into a lane, the car in the lane next to them speeds up to block. I've seen it happen quite a few times now and get a chuckle out of it.

This was especially true when I drove my gas guzzling Sienna. I guess no one wants to get passed by a minivan, it's a blow to their fragile ego!

For over a decade, the left lane has become the preferred lane for people using their phones with their hands.

Based on what I was driving versus what they were driving, it didn't take much for me to thwart their passing attempt. If I was the one being a moron attempting to pass on solid double yellows in my German made sedan and let's say I had a corvette in front of me. I'd think gee that car can probably accelerate a lot quicker than mine and I doubt I'll be successful passing them if they decide to step on the gas some more.
So if the Rogue crashed head on into a minivan with kids in it, and that innocent bystander dies leaving their kids without a mom... You'd feel fine???

It would no doubt be a terrible tragedy but as I said in a previous reply, I would not feel an ounce of guilt. I do not control other people's actions and the fact that a moron decided to attempt a dangerous, illegal maneuver without thinking about the potential consequences is their issue to deal with. Just like this moron in NH the other day. Looks like they attempted to pass and aggressively weaseled their way in front, dangerously cutting the other car off just to get one car length ahead. Karma got 'em good!!!

Yup. There are a lot of morons on the roads. Some are directly aggressive, others are passive-aggressive.

Okay so you don't care about innocent bystanders that you don't know. How about if the Rogue hit your Mom or Dad head on and they got seriously injured or worse, would you still feel no guilt since you taught the Rogue driver a lesson?

I guess you aren't comprehending my replies so I have to keep repeating myself. I'd feel no guilt as I do not control the actions of others or help them make their moronic decisions. However, I'd certainly be filing a wrongful death lawsuit against the Rogue driver in the instance you describe above.
