I have the Vince Giraldi Trio on my phone. Skating is great Christmas music.

We did Nutcracker last week at the Citizens Bank Opera House. That’s been my ear worm for a week. I have some of it on CD with the Fantasia soundtrack. The Boston Ballet orchestra isn’t very good. The rendition Disney put used in Fantasia in 1940 is really good. Disney spent a pile of money restoring the original Philadelphia Orchestra 1940 recording.

Unfortunately Geoff - those videos aren't coming through for me. For certain videos, YouTube seems to block embedding them for playback in other pages.

Thanks for this thread, OutdoorLover. Lots of songs I haven't heard before, and some really good ones too. I'm putting together a playlist to charm (or annoy - some scrooges in the bunch) my family this weekend and this is helpful.

Glad you are enjoying them :-). I have been combing the interwebs for the goods... in some cases it's a song I know well, but when it's performed by people with exceptional gifts, they can raise it to a new level of artistry and emotional impact.

And thanks to others who have been contributing - keep it up!
