Please tell me about living in Arlington with middle/high school aged kiddos (I have the statistics - I'm looking for first-hand info on living there).

Is it a difficult community to crack into as a newbie? Does it have a strong community feel? Experiences with the middle and high schools. Commute into Boston medical area? Why do you like (or dislike) it? What are it's strengths and weaknesses? Things you wish you would've known or considered before moving there? Thanks very much!

Bring lots of money and lots of BLM lawn signs and you'll fit right in.

I don't know anything about the schools there, although I heard the high school is not bad.

The community feel is not strong, partly because many residents are young professionals from other states and other countries. However if you live in Arlington Heights it may be different.

It has lots of restaurants, grocery stores, and is close to shopping centers of Alewife and Porter Square. Pretty convenient.
The town is not very pretty per se, but it does have a few lakes/ponds.

Depends on what you define as community feel. This is New England where people tend to keep to themselves, but are tighter with people they get to know well. Individual pockets of neighborhoods may feel more like community than others. Also, if you're active in town affairs you may have a different experience than those who are not. Arlington has historically been a working class town, but like many other towns has taken on an air of snobbery with Cambridge "elite" sprawl.

Very progressive/SJW town, in the aura of Camberville. This differentiates it from nearby/similar towns. The lawn sign comment was accurate.
