A handyman just charged me $390 to fix a bifold closet door that fell off its track. He said it was a nightmare and finally bought a new track. Spent 3 days on it. I can't imagine the cost of having new closets installed.

It makes sense that the size of the property could have an impact on the return of such a project. That's an angle I hadn't considered when I made my statement.

Still, it's incredibly difficult to pin a value on a specific improvement.

I got a quote from Closet And Storage Concepts that was something outrageous. One room, they wanted $500 per linear foot and the other $900/lf. I had a grand design for about 40 feet in the house. That’s roughly 25k - 30k. What??

My ask wasn’t completely closets in scope, it involved desks, drawers and doors. But this is high-end furniture prices for materials that are not very high end by any stretch. MDF, plastics, and side mounted slides.

I may have to rethink my organizational needs.

Or perhaps get quotes from some other companies.

Take a look at Lowes Closet Systems. Granted it is DIY but they have many designs to choose from.

Can you share a picture, company, cost, and if it was done within the last 10 years?
Also curious in hearing actual experiences about this. We're looking at remodeling a pantry this year; we're still in planning phases but we are earmarking $25-30k for the project based upon similar work we've had done in the last couple years.
