Is anybody else having a problem with the school giving the second grade students their spelling word on monday and having the kids do a pretest the same day. to me this is a little crazy how about a little study time since the test is on friday maybe give pretest on a wednesday. what does everybody think am I nuts to think this???????????

My sons school in Tewksbury does the same thing. It is showing the teacher how much the children know, just from thier expericences, and parents reading to them. My son has his pretest each Monday, with the test on Friday (1st grade). He does his homework each day and each night we study the words for his test. A week is not a short time to learn things. This is preparing them for the older grades and getting them into good study habits. My sons vocabulary has increased tenfold since September!
