I'll be spending 4 months a year in Maui and would like to know what my short term internet options are. There is no cable on my street so I'm limited to dsl and wireless. I'd rather not pay all year unless my options are mobile and can be used on the mainland as well. We use the internet for our phone and tv viewing so we need a lot of data. Verizon's mobile hot spot is $20 a month plus $100 a month for 10 GB of data - a lot more than we would like to spend. Can you other part timers offer some insight on what you do for internet?

Clear 4G is $50/month, unlimited data - no contract.

I had clear temporarily during my last move until my home internet could get set up and it was reliable and fast enough but not blazing.

Thanks for the info but according to the Clear coverage map, it doesn't look like Haiku is included. Did you ever try yours in the Haiku area?

Nope. Looks like you'll have to go with DSL or hang out at Starbucks.

Do you have an unlimited data plan from verizon? If so you can skip the hot spot plan, and install the Fox-Fi app on the Google Play store for free (for Droid phones).

edit: Correction Fox-fi now has a licensing charge of $6.97 for to use unlimited.
