Oahu seems to be the place all the young folks around here want to get to. Much more exciting night life than the other islands. Lots more girls on Oahu than the other islands is what I've heard, but I don't track that much myself.

I'd say it depends on what sort of young dude. If it is a surfer dude than Oahu has better surf. If it is a city dude, then Oahu is probably a better choice. Go check out all the islands before deciding on which one.

Does the young dude want to live on Maui or just visit?

Well, Oahu is overcrowded but it is also a lot more exciting. Once you get your yayas out and become and old settled dude then the other islands become more interesting.

There are also more jobs available on Oahu but the job market is getting really tight because of lack of tourists and layoffs in multiple employment sectors.

Bad news for ya. With all the layoffs, Maui PD now has more than enough applicants, they are being much more choosy.
