Hello everybody. I have been reading this forum for a long time and now I feel like I need a helpful advice to get myself out of difficult situation. My husband want me to move out of house and I know it would be better thing to do. I am looking for an apartment but I don’t know what area would be safe and inexpensive for a middlle age caucasian woman to move to. And I have a cat who is going with me. Please help me with an advice. I appreciate so much.

Is this for the Memphis area? Are you in the city or the suburbs--where do you want to live? Also, what is your budget?

Thank you for a quick response.I am working a part time low pay job but I am looking for a second job or a full time job. I got some money saved but not much. I just want to find out what place would be inexpensive and safe for a single women to move to. Doesn’t matter if it will be in the city or the suburbs. I think I can pay $450 - $650 a month for the rent but it would be hard to find a safe place for that price. Right now I’m leaving in Bartlett but unfortunately need to move out.

Have you looked into the the Bartlett Heights apartments on stage road besides Krispy Kreme? I believe they may be income based and/or pretty cheap. You just don't have really have any options in your price range that I can say without a doubt are safe. You could check out apartments on Macon Road: Greenbrook, Canterburry Woods, The Arbors. These will be the closest to any semblance of safety and they're slightly out of your price range. They all get bad reviews as most apartments but I've seen a wide range of people live in these places. The Meadows on Raleigh Lagrange right outside of Bartlett are the only apartments in that area I would recommend but it also out of your price range.

^There are quite a few nice complexes overall, and nice 1 bedroom apartments at the border of Bartlett near Memphis, under $700/month. Check them out.

If you want to live in the Collierville area on a very low budget, call the CollierVillage Apartments and the Center Court Apartments and check their prices. Both are on Center St in Collierville. I imagine one of them would be around $500. You'd have some obnoxious neighbors living in a cheap rental area, but those apartments are within 2 miles of the police station and a fire station. I don't think you'll find any options in Germantown, but maybe some Cordova apartments will be cheap? Good luck in your search.
CollierVillage currently has a listing at $685. Call them and tell them your situation and see if they'll work with you.
