This is indeed the case. I took all those photos around 9 to 10 o'clock in the morning on saturdays and sundays. I didn't want to leave my car and just stuck the camera outside the window. It was the perfect time to take photos because no cars were getting in the way. It was easy and no hassle. Sorry, I just feel weird walking around town in the middle of the day taking random pictures. The morning and being in my car allowed me to avoid that.

And regardless of the time of day, Memphis isn't a "walking" city. Those photos of east Memphis, Collierville, etc...you're not going to see hoards of people outside wandering around

Although I'm surprised there weren't people on the patio drinking at Celtic Crossing at 9am!

I bet Memphis has/had a lot to offer. From everything i've read the high crime rate is an issue in the heart of the city. I understand that in the 80s and 90s Memphis was blossoming but then things changed. I would love nothing more than to see the city thrive again.

Got some more pics. Based on past comments folks need to keep in mind when I toke these pictures, which was on a Sunday morning around 10 o'clock and it was about 20 degrees outside. So you won't see much activity. I guess I should have taken that into consideration for folks who don't know "what's what" and when stores, restaurants, etc. are open but it's the only time I'm able to take these pictures.

The Germantown Commissary. Good BBQ.

I want to thank you for the pictures! I know Memphis gets a bad rap but it's not as bad as what some think. I've been all over TN and live in Nashville; but Memphis is the town with charm and so much going for it. To me the people are so much friendlier and outgoing in Memphis than any other town I've been in throughout TN. Again; thank you for the beautiful pictures.

**THESE ARE NOT MY PERSONAL PHOTOS** Found these on another website and thought I would share them here. These are alot better.

These next few are a view from a someone's apartment on South Main. I believe it's in the Central Station building at the intersection of Main St. and G.E. Patterson.

**NOT MY PERSONAL PHOTOS** These are from JMT. Came across these here on city-data. These are really good pictures. They better show the "activity" that are missing in my photos. The restuarants photos are in the Cooper-Young district. The rest are pics of Midtown.
