Put it on the curb, and someone is bound to take it to re-use

Maybe not in Cville though. Take it to a Salvation Army? If it's broken, they might take it just to try and repair and sell off.

Does anyone repair TVs anymore? With repair costs so high and new TVs so cheap, I would think most people just toss them out unless it's either almost new or pretty high end.

I'd check with Salvation Army before dragging it over there....they may not want non-working units....

There is, or at least was fairly recently, a TV repair place on Summer, near Perkins I think.
Also last May some company did a big recycle thing with computers, TVs, and misc electronics up at the U of M. Maybe they will do it again this year?

The UM is having another event on May 17th from 9-3 at the parking lot on Southern. They are accepting televisions. We did this last year, it was pretty fast and really easy, they'll help unload your stuff.

University of Memphis Electronic Recycling Program ~ maybe someone with a working copy and paste can google this and provide a link, my old laptop doesn't cooperate much any more, sorry.
