I didn't know where else to ask this question, and I've gotten about a dozen different answers from people at work.

What is the name of the plant/bush that is in bloom right now here in the midsouth? The bushes are usually around people's front doors, or under windows of the homes, pretty big. And right now they are bright red and pink. They stay that color for a couple weeks and then fade to green the rest of the year. They just came in bloom about a week ago here.

Burning bush? Azaleas? ???? I really want to plant some for next season, but I haven't been able to get a straight answer and would like to know in order to look up info online.

Most likely azalea -- they're in full bloom right now, but only for a few weeks.

If you visit the Memphis Botanical gardens you'll also find them in yellow, orange and purple as well as the more common salmon, pink, fuschia, red and white.
