Thanks for all advice....We most likely won't be looking at living close to the Nike plant my husband will just to commute. So researching on the good neighborhoods and schools in the suburbs is atill in progress. Thanks again.

East memphis is your only real choice ... you want to be arounf walnut grove/white station/yates/rich road...
richland elm. and white station middle schools... public schools that don't get the funding that the memphis schools get because the parents do so well at supporting the schools... if you don't live in the area it's very hard to get in... Nice older area... you can run at nite... central to everything... 12 minutes to saint jude... not a small town... but it's the best you will do in memphis if schools are an issue
good luck

Tara Oaks in Collierville is your best option for public in the area. We moved specifically for that school so we wouldn't have to continue to pay for private for 2 kids. Of course all the schools in Collierville are top rated. Collierville is very quiet and safe too. Great place to live! We were in the White Station elem area...also a great school by Memphis standards. Doesn't compare to the schools in Collierville, however. Richland is actually the best school in East Memphis..beyond those two I would place my child in private for sure if you move out that way! The convenience to everything is great..it's the only thing I miss about living over there.
