Anyone try them? I'm not sure which is best for treating anxiety that ultimately causes my depression?

Gaba and L-teanine are good for anxiety.

Actually, nutrient deficiencies of many different types can cause anxiety.
So if someone makes sure they are having enough nutrients of all types, it can reduce anxiety a lot.

Other than Gaba and L-teanine, all the protein amino acids are good to help anxiety, as well as calcium, magnesium, potassium, vitamin D, all the B vitamins, iron, and omega 3/6/9.

You can get all of those nutrients in certain types of food as well as nutrient supplements.

Other things can help with anxiety too.

I sometimes use a product called Gaba Calm by Source Naturals which i find effective.

Source Naturals :: GABA Calm™

It's a sublingual supplement ... dissolves under the tongue and absorbs quickly into the blood stream.
It comes in both orange (which i like very much) and peppermint flavor (i find the taste disgusting and it burns).

Anxiety is very difficult. I read that Vitamin B helps both anxiety and depression, and that "Buried Treasure- vm 100" is an excellent source along with other vitamins needed for balance. It's available online, incl. Amazon.com

I tried GABA supplements, but they made my throat close up and I got lightheaded.

I took GABA and L-Theanine together, and didn't really notice much difference. I read that GABA alone does not cross the blood/brain barrier, but that L-Theanine taken with GABA may facilitate absorption.
Kava Kava root extract has helped me, as well as a combination of Valerian and Hops (capsule form).
