I used to wonder why there was never any research on curing ADHD. We know about big pharma now. Kids were diagnosed with ADHD so big pharma could make billions in tandem with doctors on Ritalin. Searching for a cure was never in the works because Ritalin was the #1 drug in America for years.
Having ADHD, means you'll be better suited to a career which involves short bursts of energy. Staying focused on one topic, isn't really suited for ADHD's. There are tons of career choices.
In order to know if it can be cured, you'd have to know the exact proven cause...which they don't yet. Not enough research has been done. There has been some interesting possible causes and some suggestive evidence, but no, they still don't know for sure. And you're assuming it can be cured after a person develops it. You know...presto chango, here's your cure, no more ADHD! It seldom happens that way, but yeah, I wish! And I don't believe ADHD is some made-up diagnosis. I had it, undiagnosed, for most of my life. I always knew there was fundamentally something wrong with me. I didn't imagine that. It was a fact I faced eventually with great difficulty. Didn't want to admit it to myself, but I had to. I developed some methods of copeing with it, but it was never enough. When I finally read what ADHD really was, I was relieved. To know what is wrong with you is always better than to just know that SOMETHING is wrong. I didn't seek out treatment for quite a while, but I'm glad I did.
