So I’ve always had issues with attention, sitting still and not talk/be on my phone when I’m supposed to be quiet.
My mom didn’t believe in ADHD when I was younger and refused to medicate me. My grades suffered and I got in trouble for being too social a lot.

Now as an adult I’ve noticed I still have a lot of the same issues and was recently put on adderral and in the short time I’ve been on it I’ve noticed a world of difference.

Aside from the medication what other tips and tricks are there out there that could help me get better organization and control of my ADHD?

Regular, vigorous exercise. Have you ever tried yoga?

And good for you for seeking help.

Yoga is not vigorous exercise. At least not to me.

Here is a website with many tips:

Two separate suggestions.

Have you ever tried a heated vinyasa flow class? That’ll work you.

After taking adderall for over 20 years I am now faced with having to stop. My doctor retired and the new doctor thinks at my age (70) I could have heart trouble develop from it and wants to stop the medication. I am very afraid that things wont out well for me .I have diabetes also and suffer from extreme fatigue associated with it. Any ideas? thanks

What does your doctor say when you raise these concerns? Has he offered you other options? Is it possible to switch to yet another doctor?

Thanks for the response The new doctor has a plan to reduce the adderall down to zero within 30 days and prescribed medicine for stress. I have not detailed my concern about my energy levels and how stopping the adderall may affect me. Of course adderall is never prescribed to help give you energy but it is a side effect which has helped me deal with the diabetes. I can only hope that this new doctor will be able to help me no matter what. I do know that because adderall is over prescribed and abused so much that finding another doctor to give it to me may be impossible and I must give this new doctor a chance to help me. thanks again

I have family members on adderall, and I dont mean this to be insulting, but why at age 70 would you still need to be on adderall?

I understand schoolwork and a full time job one needs concentration, but at 70? why would you need it?

again, not to be insulting.

Because ADHD is present in a person's entire life, not just school or work. Do you know much about ADHD and its symptoms?

What you mean is all aspects of their life, but it isn't necessarily present for a person's entire lifespan.
