I don't think you understand who that kid was. In American culture, he would be the equivalent of Pancho Villa's grandson.
If you think that ... you don't know much about Malcolm X, nor Pancho Villa and I'll suggest you spend some time in the library and speaking with Americans and Mexicans.

There are rememberance events all week. His janaza (funeral) is on saturday. What a loss this is. To the AA and Muslim American communities, this hurts so much. Malcolm was royalty in our eyes.
He should have known better than to be there. I don't want to hear a bunch of bs about "blaming the victim". Who doesn't know that Mexico is a lawless hell hole?
Very tragic that he had to die in such a fashion under suspicious circumstances, and I hope they apprehend the perpetrators and shut that place down. I for one don't use this incident to condemn all of Mexico.
This young man apparently had a troubled life, and seemed to live on the edge. I didn't know him or the standards by which he lived. However, it's not hard to live a life where you embrace high educational achievement and strive for all that is high and noble. He failed to live such a life and paid for it. Very unfortunate, but not surprising.
This is the third US male under 30 murdered in Mexico City that made the news that I follow in the last 18 months (a US Air flight attendant - who probably also went to the wrong bar, and an AP intern - the specifics have never been adequately explained on that one.). Maybe there have been others that I didn't hear about. I keep hearing how safe Mexico City is relative to the border areas and that if your not involved in the drug trade you won't have a problem. I really want to check the place out but........ too scary for me
Hmmmmmm Nobody caught my DECIMAL point....was $1250.00 (nothing important, just curious).
Peso rate fluctuates depending on weekends and holidays. Had been 11.25 to $1 for quite a while....jumped to 12.00 for a couple of days and now dropping to a close 11.65 to $1.
Thing I noticed was as the rate climbs so does the Grocery prices but they never drop down so we are paying more.
Topic unrelated but still info for a few that may be curious.
