Do not forget that you live in the south-west of the USA, which belonged to Mexico until 1848. I read that after the US-Mexico war, the American generals considered the annexation of Baja California peninsula, but found it to be useless stones. Your plan is similar to Vladimir Putin - the annexation of the Crimean peninsula and the deportation of local populations to Ukraine. Are you a new immigrant from Russia or communist China? Your plans do not take place in a democratic country only in a dictatorship. Leave Mexico alone. Hotels in Cabo are very good. BTW US administration will instantly turn a popular among the Americans strip clubs in Tijuana Zona Norte to Burger King, KFC, Chick-fil-A etc. No thanks!
Canada never wanted to buy the islands. The first mentioned of annexing the islands was in 1917 when PM Borden had the idea. It went nowhere.
In the 1970's the idea came up again, as it has over and over again.
In 1990 90 percent of the islands residents approved of the idea, it went down to 60 percent just over 10 years later., probably because tourism as an industry had grown.
In 2014 the islands Premier Rufus Ewing was visiting Canada and didn't dismiss the idea, in fact, apparently hinted he was at lest interested in it.
Again it went nowhere.
Will it ever? I doubt it. It would be complicated, the UK would have to transfer the islands to us. There would have to be a constitutional amendment to add another province ( although this might be avoided if they just make the islands part of another one ).
I also would think Canadians would want to be assured that the citizens of the islands were in a majority in favour of the idea.
Yeah it's a real shame Canada didn't persue this idea.
