the lady looked at me. . dumbfounded.

Google "America's Imported Caste System" by Steve Sailer. Basically, the theory is that successful Mexican men marry whiter women and their descendants whiten over time.

I made a small blunder in the OXXO for Mexico.

Letter "X" is pronounced as the letter "S" thus "OS SO" could be correct.

My error in using the "O...SO...SO" is Japanese from my former Military days in Japan. (part of the human body)

I some times will mix up Hungarian, (first language) English, (2nd language) Spanish, Japanese and Korean. Mind says one thing and I type something else.

Life is a Beech.

Exactly. There's no way he lives in DF.

He thought Terminal Norte was a train station. I think that's pretty clear he isn't a chilango. That's like a New Yorker thinking Grand Central is a bus station.

No. That is not how Mexicans pronounce Oxxo.

Again, if you can't pronounce the most common retailer in Mexico, I find it very hard to believe you live in Mexico. It's like an American not knowing about this "McDonalds" place.

i asked my sup about this..
he said it's pronounced OOK..SO... not OSSO.
he said to emphasize the first O .. by stretching it out.

thanks for your military service.

FYI: im also TriLingual: English (first language), Thai (illiterate), Laotian (illiterate), and now a lil bit of Spanish.

Canadians also never say "America" as it refers to both continents. Conversely most Canadians see North America as just the US & Canada and Mexico is viewed as more Central or Latin America.

Anyway back to the conversation...........

The elites in Mexico do seem to be very small but incredibly well connected with the leavers of political and economic institutions. I knew of Mexican corruption but when I went there all 3 times I was struck by the huge gap between the very wealthy and seemingly everyone else. Certainly there are well off professionals like doctors etc but with the amount of poverty and yet, statistically at least, decent level of per-capita GDP, you know the money is flowing to extremely few.

yep.. im American as stated multiple times.
but don't feel like engaging w/a troll.
he only reads what he wants to see.
i've only returned here since January.
have lived in the US since i was 3.
my parents brought me there thinking English/US would provide a better opportunity.

im still waiting for the Trolls to ask for evidence so i can take some pics and post them,
just to shut them up once and for all.

all this flirting i've described really gets their panties in a bunch

You are quite extreme, aren't you? Lol

There are quite a few Americans that I have met living in Mexico. Some learn Spanish REALLY well, some speak it intermediate, some have great pronunciation, some horrible. It's quite normal I think.

You don't think it's a tad odd that someone who claims to be a long-time resident of DF doesn't know how to pronounce "Oxxo" and doesn't know what Terminal Norte is?

Has he heard of tacos al pastor or tortas, or are those unfamiliar terms too?
