It's not. They're a member (I believe), but ideologically, they moved to the right in the 80s. In fact they are not even considered social democrats, they support the free markets, privatization, etc.

This is great. Now if all of Mexico could be like this, it'd be perfect.

Outside of Chiapas what percent of Mexicans support the Zapistas? It has to be far less than 1% ?

Probably because they are mainly targeted towards the indigenous Mexicans and there concerned. A political model like the Zapatistas meant for all of Mexico would be widely popular.

Where's your evidence? I highly doubt it. Are you sure your idealism / ideology is not tainting your view of things? I mean, if such a political model a la Zapatista would be so popular, I'm sure someone in Mexico would exploit it.

What Mexico is really in dire need of is rule of law, as in if you commit a crime you are caught and held accountable/punished for it.

Not jobs, less corruption, and a stable economy?

More state control and laws is what gives the cartel power. You want to take it away from them, give people freedom to live without profit motives and private control, in such a scenario organized crime would no longer exist.

No.

Socialism is human nature: a political and economic theory of social organization that advocates that the means of production, distribution, and exchange should be owned or regulated by the community as a whole.
