I am not saying that SOME areas of Mexico are not feeling the very definite effects of the Mexican governments attempts to crack down on organized crime, because they certainly are, but Mexico is a very large country and in Campeche we feel safer walking the streets at night than we do walking the streets of our home town in England at night.

We are settling in to life in Mexico and I can strongly recommend it for anyone who wishes a more tranquil pace of life. The humid season is over and we now have beautiful weather with clear blue skies and walking and cycling along the Malecon in Campeche in the later afternoon is fantastic, whilst looking out over the Gulf of Mexico.

Our estate agency is open for business and we are slowly uploading more properties for sale, so if you make it down to Campeche look out for 'Viva Campeche'
Thank you for your entertaining and descriptive posts! Look forward to more... As former "pioneer/renovaters", if we weren't rooted so deeply on the other coast, I'd be very tempted to pursuade my husband to visit and take a look at what's out there!
Wishing you the very best of luck in your exciting new venture...
