Like I said, I'm Diego Nuñez Castellanos. Just like you, I have a first name, middle name, and last name. And I'm from Mexico City. So I don't think it's a cultural thing, I think we have the same amount of names that Americans have.

YouTube - Cuchi Cuchi

hint - it's a Spanish tradition also which is why Mexicans tend to have longer or more names.

We can close this thread. Hello Mr. Administrator? It doesn't matter. My point didn't get through.

Update: Today I realized my social security card has me as Othon Almanza Salinas Jr. So that makes FOUR names I have floating around.

Let me add another one. My stepfather, a caucasian American, is named Richard Leroy Cuthbert Jr.
So again, it's completely ignorant to pin this "multiple names" thing on Mexicans.

No, but he goes by Rick, Rich, etc.
And I've never known a Mexican who switches names like you say they do.

For example (yet again), my cousin is named Luis Alfredo Castellanos Grifaldo. He goes by Luis, or Luis-Alfredo. That's like a "Michael" going by both "michael" and "Mike." I don't see why you're making it such a big deal.

Oh wait, yes I do. Because according to you Mexicans are ALL criminals and scammers...

I know a bunch of immigrant Mexicans in California that do that. I've seen it a bunch of times.

A "bunch" of times is hardly enough justification to label Mexicans, or at least people with multiple names, as scammers and criminals.

And being from Mexico, I'm pretty sure I know more Mexicans than the "bunch" you know.

Why do Mexican people use several different names, with multiple combinations?

Dang, you caught on! Of course... they do this just to confuse the gringos.
