The "gay" beach is down by the Palace on 12th, in SOBE, so most of the events would be in that area. Stay north, there is plenty of beach. And most of the gay people here are pretty laid back, and discrete. Nothing too crazy...Go to the website about the white party, and you will see where the main events are to stay clear as those are probably more adult venues anyway.

I never heard of White Party Week being a problem. Now if you said you were booked for Memorial Day weekend, I would tell you to cancel.

As mentioned, white party is more closed door event type of thing, not a week long parade, and pricy too, so you should not have to worry, but for the nicest beaches really I would take a drive to Dania beach or Boca Raton istead of the algae-filled miami beaches.

You have nothing to worry about with the gays. Like a previous poster said, it's mostly closed door events so unless you are staying at an official hotel sponsor, or want to take you kids to a club you shouldn't have much problems. You'll see guys holding hands and wearing t-shirts two sizes too small but that should be the worse of it. I do hear it gets really out of hand on Memorial Day though...
