I have a mango tree in my back yard thanks to the county's free tree give-aways. I think I got 70 mangos this year from a tree that is only about three years old. If I am not mistaken my tree is a Haitian mango variety. I basically told myself how could I live in Hialeah and NOT have a mango tree!

I got layed for the 1st time in a Mango grove at 123rd ave just off Eureka drive across from what was the old blimp base but I believe is now property of the zoo. On the blimp base there used to be orange groves that were harvested for juice. These oranges looked like some kind of hybrid because they were extremeldy juicy navals that still had a seed pouch at the bottom of the fruit. My wife is from the Philippines and when we go there breakfast is loaded with the most delicious and juicy Mangos ive ever eaten and large ptichers of mango juice. My brothers used to work picvking Mangos in the groves that were in the Redlands

I have had friends come down who are fascinated that mangos grow all over the place here...they seem stunned/excited lol, remember for most folks, mangos/bananas/aguacatess all those come from some tropical exotic location. And we have them here in our backyard!!

Plus a big ripe JUICY FLESHY DELICIOUSY mango in summer is the best.
