Apparently you're unfamiliar with the work of Fortune International. They're one of the firms that have been having great success in attracting many South American buyers.

Those buildings didn't target foreign buyers actually. I can tell you the agents that are going to sell this place have had success selling to the South American market. So this place will sell out, the people will not be full time residents, vacation homes mostly. Which isn't great for the surrounding area.

You couldn't be more wrong when you think about how weak the U.S. dollar is,this may be used as an investment or flipped but it will just be a part-time resident for the foreign buyer.

The Brazilians are really hot in to the buying market currently as in the past it was the Venzuelans.

I do not think throwing in buildings makes a city a major city other than physically looking like one. Plus, is there some sort of definition of a major city? I consider Miami a major city, not large like NYC, but still a major city.

Residential buildings do nothing to strengthen the local economy. It needs factories and research labs, not overpriced garbage like this. What you see here is an ocean of worthless Fed dollars coming home to roost. The long-term outlook for project like this is bleak and we will see demolition of these structures in a few decades if they do not collapse sooner.

I don't think this will ever happen.
