Greynold's Park in NE Dade is beautiful, has terrific nature trails, wildlife visible in many areas, and occasional Sunday local concerts. There are great picnic areas also. Miami-Dade County charges $6 per auto to enter, but if you're really strapped for cash, you could park nearby and walk-in. I believe it's $1 per walk-in entry (perhaps not much cheaper than an auto). We don't have many great parks with green space in Miami-Dade as it seems the developers are getting the good land, so please use, enjoy, and protect our parks.

Nothing is free in the land of the free. Parks and libraries are occupied by the homeless.

Try the Hialeah (Amelia Earhart) park. That one is still good.

That is very true. I remember when there were a lot of activities that were free but now cost money. Most if not all art festivals were free now most charge an admission fee. The entrance to Key Biscayne was free, parking at the beach was free, and so were most parks and boat ramps. What wasn't free was very affordable for an average family.

And whatever is free is no good. The park next to Key Biscayne's toll is a jewel, but don't even think of parking the car there and going to Key Biscayne. Chances are your windows will be smashed when you return.

That park and the two at each end of Venetian offer the most sublime views of Miami, and yet they are no good.

Free is getting harder to find, but there are several low cost options out there.

Bill Baggs on Key Biscayne is only $8 per vehicle, and has great beaches, some history (although I see on their site the lighthouse is currently closed for repairs,) as well as low cost bike rentals.

Lummus Park in South Beach is also very nice to wander around.

The Miami Beach Botanical Garden is free:
Miami Beach Botanical Garden - Urban Greenspace in the Heart of South

If you have a smartphone you can download the South Beach walking tour app for just $4.99:
South Beach Walking Tour - A Self guided audio walking tour by Smart Walking Tours

The Miami Circle in Brickell is a historic site with information signs telling the history of the Tequesta Indians. It's next to Icon right off Brickell Ave.
