Hi, how many days per year does Miami see temperatures above 90°? I'm generally okay with high humidity but when you combine it with the above 90°, especially 95°, that's when I start to get pretty uncomfortable quick.

Climate of Miami - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

You really just have to worry about the mean season( June, July, August and sometimes sept) for getting temps over 90 degrees. But also the high humitiy is the reason it feels so much hotter. Actually temps over 90 degrees don't happen that often even during the mean season because the coastal breezes.

That being said, right before and a little after a dramatic thunderstorm that usually happens in the afternoon we will get a brief cool down which is awesome untill the sun comes breaking through again and the cycle starts all over again.

If you count humidity (ie feels like 90), then probably a few dozen. If you mean actual air temperature, less than a dozen.

For the last 12 months we've had 87 days at 90f+, so roughly three months. NOAAA has all the temp information. We can spend 10 months out of the year at 80F+. Humidity is what makes it uncomfortable.

We are all a little different.

To me, the humidity is what makes 90+ degree temperatures bearable. In dry climates such level of heat, and even higher, sears my lips: I think climate wise states like Texas, Arizona and Nevada are a step down from Florida (but God blessed coastal California).

I won't go in a pool unless it's at least 90 degrees outside and the sun is shining on the pool water. Otherwise I feel cold.

The temperature rarely goes above 90-91, but this past summer I think we had a few peaks around 93-94, however check that in the official statistics in the link that doggiebus provided.

Good Luck!

I'm just the opposite. I can sit outside on a dry 90 degree day, but I can't sit outside on a humid 90 degree day. Realized this on a trip to Colorado, when I had lunch outside in the sun and wasn't sweating to death. The humidity is what kills me.

I will never get used to the heat,90+ degrees occurs anytime between late April and early October, with the worst heat being late June through early September.Every year when June comes around I wish I could take a bus out of town until Oct.1st.

Accurate post.

Even though it is between June-mid to late September that we can have many days at or above 90, it is true that it can happen anytime between late April-Oct. Not common during those months, but can happen on occasions. Actually, it is usually around mid May when temps begin to hit 90 from time to time, but it's not the norm. Temps at that time is consistently in the mid to upper 80's.

Nov.-March is my favorite time of year in South Florida. April is a hit or miss month. Some years are relatively nice, some are hot hitting the mid 80's consistently.

The uncomfortable heat and constant rain is one of the reason I am not in Miami much during June and July. I wish I could be out longer. Maybe when I retire I can be a snowbird and he here 6 months out of the year.

I hate the sun and anytime temps are above 80 degrees outside I am disappointed. Instead I spend time inside as much as I can before going outside to sweat non-stop. There are only 30 days per year I can work outside without sweating like someone dumped a bucket of water on me. Before air conditioning smart people went north and let the poor saps suffer from May-October.
