I live in Sunny Isles Beach and really love it.
It's technically a suburb but because of all of the recent construction it feels pretty big and it's got great strip malls near the oceanside buildings. There are also multiple parks here, and they're not bad at all. You can drive 15-20 min. from here to both Miami and Ft. Lauderdale, because Sunny Isles is located right between both of these cities. As for the demographics, there are a lot of retirees here, but younger people are also settling in and a lot of the condos are owned by people outside of the US, giving Sunny Isles great cultural diversity. I should also mention that S. Florida's largest Eastern European community resides here, as well as some Western Europeans too; you also get a lot of folks from S. America (especially Brazil) and of course the Latin Americans you always see in these parts (Cubans, Puerto Ricans, etc.) There's also a lot of white non-hispanic Americans so English is dominant unlike most of Dade county. I would say it really feels more Broward-ish here, and I love the place the way it is.

I'd say chances are pretty damn good you'll see somebody looking pretty good around there, but in case of the rare chance you don't, all you need to do is grab a dollar and hop on any of the regularly passing by city buses straight down the island to South Beach and there is no question you definitely encounter more than enough "fine as hell" ladies.

Best thing about that setup is you can get drunk off your ass on SoBe, stumble on to the bus back to SI (hopefully with a couple hotties) and never worry about a car wreck or a DWI!

I agree except for the traffic Sunny Isles is really an oasis in Dade County and probably one of the truly diverse areas .. I have heard English , Spanish ,Portuguese , Russian , Italian and German spoken there ... it also has a large Jewish presence as well ... it is like a tropical Manhattan really .

LOL...You will NOT get to either Miami or Fort Lauderdale in 15 minutes. In fact, it will take you 15 minutes just to get to I-95. Also, one of the causeways has a drawbridge. For me, this is the only major downside of SIB; otherwise, it's a safe, clean beach town and much cheaper than Miami Beach. You do see many families, but also young professionsals and singles who live there.

You're definitely right, I forgot to state that with traffic it can take up to 30 min to get to either city at max . 15 min would be without any traffic.
