The biggest con to living in Miami is having to read the continual bs posted on this community forum by a few malcontents who are unhappy with their lives. You have a few on every forum, but I have to wonder about the emotional makeup of persons whose lives are so pathetic that the only joy they seem to get is to hangout on an Internet forum and trash the city they live or lived in.

The rest of us are here to be helpful by providing info or answering any questions that tourists or prospective residents may have. Just ignore the ignorant comments from the people who post nothing but nonstop negativity about Miami and Miamians, and focus your attention on those who are actually trying to provide assistance.

your exactly right. its a forum for ppl to give there opinion to the question at hand. there is no right or wrong answer cause everyone has lived different lives. not sure why your so butt hurt about other peoples opinions?? your opinion means nothing to me so im hoping mine means nothing to you? i live in the guts of miami beach and a lot of my friends work in night life so my world is possibly totally different to yours. im not sure and frankly i dont care. i was just telling someone of MY opinion of life in south beach. miami may be a totally different beast and im sure it is but i have friends on the main land who tend to agree with my opinion. either way. dont care. its just an opinion

Yea I agree there are malcontents, if they were as well off as they claim to be they would not need to be here on this forum as they would have a more active lifestyle. I don't believe half the stuff I read on this forum.

The OP was asking for the pros AND cons of living in Miami. I'm happy with my life in Miami, but I also know it's not as good as I had it in San Diego. There are many reasons for that and if someone wants to know about the negatives of living here, I'm going to mention a few. The positives are easy to figure out. Even if you live in Montana, you know Miami had great weather, beaches and nightlife, but you may not be aware of the lack of English speakers in many areas or the lower wages paid at most jobs.
Miami is severely over populated as it is. If someone who's dreaming of palm trees and sunshine can see that there's more to it than that, they might decide it's not worth the move. Then there will be less of those "malcontents" on here posting continual "bs".

I also lived in San Diego, but I prefer Miami (Beach) more.

Ofc, I have a remote job, not based in Miami, so I receive a high wage and work from home and to make matters better I pay a Florida state income tax instead of a California... which is the equivalent of paying no income tax.

I don't care about the lack of English, I like it actually.

The overcrowding is an issue if you need to drive or park, but living on the Beach, I never drive.

Indeed. I know that if I were an out-of-towner considering a visit or a move to Miami, I would definitely want to know both the good and the bad about Miami. Imagine if this forum just consisted of locals constantly singing the praises of Miami. Anybody from out of town would think that the posts on this forum sound fictitious.

agreed. roses have thorns aswell. everyone that visits thinks its all roses. not until u live here does the truth come out and the thorns start to sting u. i call it the lebron theory. most ppl dont last 4 years and they bounce n go home cause the flakeyness and shadiness of a lot of ppl that live here. again.... more so in miami beach

PROS: Weather ... IF you can handle 95 degrees and 100% humidity May-Sept.

CONS: Everything else.
