Hi,
My twin girls have been accepted to all the middle schhol magnets they applied: Southwood, Arvida, Ammons, and Frank C Martin. Does anyone have any children attending these schools, and if so, do you have any suggestions, concerns, comments, etc.?
Thanks!

Does your child have gifts or skills in certain magnet areas? That should determine which you picked. My friend's daughter went to Southwood - arts magnet. From there she went to New World and from there she went to college on full scholarship. She was very happy with the school, even attending while the horrible bathroom stabbing happened. I think anything in the arts is a little different than most magnets as you also have to be born naturally gifted vs learning the skills or loving the subject area.
I don't know what magnets the other schools offer. Hopefully other posters will chime in.

My nephew attended coral reef high as a magnet school and he graduated with full scholar ship to various schools within the state and a few outside. He is now attending Florida state and I think that his success was very much to do with the high school he went to.

I am not familair with the middle schools you mentioned but I am sure that they are good.

What I know about Ammons is that it's got a music magnet program. The teenaged son of one of my neighbors had considered attending that school a few years back, but didn't get accepted because of his grades.
