Well said

OP you certainly can live decently on your salary in Miami, but you won't be "The Bigshot in Town"
(Which is what it seems you're looking for?)
Best of luck!

you'll fit right in...Miami is full of shallow narrow minded wannabe's longing to be 'keeping up with the kardashians'

do yourself a favor and save money for your retirement..it'll be here faster than you think.

I feel the same way. I'm young and want to enjoy some of the finer things in life and have a good time with my money. You can always make more money throughout your life.

It could get you a Florida Shuttle for about 20 - 25 years depending on your daily amount of trips.

Could that afford me a 900-1100 lease on a nice car, $1700-2k condo rental and a comfortable lifestyle there? What do you guys think?

DBA in Miami is actually closer to $70k per year. Florida salaries skew less than most other locations.
If you are just beginning your career and do not have 5+ years experience, then closer to $60k.

We get it bro. You work for or own a shuttle service. If you think you are slick with your spam, you are not.

^^ does it matter? Experience is what matters over which db you work with.

That's like asking if java developers make more than C++ developers. It all depends on the years of experience.

OK, let me walk over to our DBAs and ask. They sit right next to each other - one MS SQL, and the other one is Oracle. Both have equal amount of experience.
