My girlfriend and I are moving to Miami and need advice of neighborhoods. We need to be w/in a 45 minute commute to Univ of Miami. Will we be able to rent a 2br 1 ba house with a yard? I will be making about 36k and will be the only income for us. Is a 1000 to 1300 window reasonable? We are not too picky one neighborhood but would like live a friendly community. Thanks for taking to time to read and I hope you reply.

Check out craigslist for houses in Coconut Grove but make sure when you call you ask about the neighborhood and you drive around yourself and make sure it's safe.

My suggestions of neighborhoods:

-Coconut Grove ( east of SW 32th Ave )

-South Miami

-Dadeland / Kendall

And probably you won`t be able to rent a house with 2br/1ba and yard with this budget ( $1,000 to $1,300 ) in these areas, probably just a 2br/1ba or 1br/1ba apartment ( Miami is expensive ).

All these neighborhoods that I cited are close to UM.
