Hi my husband has the oppurtunity to transfer to miami intl airport for work............I am wondering what would be some nice neighborhoods to live in no more than 45 mins from the airport and under 315k for a family of four. I dont mind diverse areas....just want it to be safe and pretty.....thanks any input would be appreciated.

If you are not set on a single family home, you can get a condo or small townhome in Doral for under $325,000. It is a family area with very well-regarded schools. The airport is only 5-20 minutes away depending in where in Doral you are. Another suggestion would be Miami Lakes: there are plenty of condos and townhomes going for that price. You might even be able to find a smaller detached home for under $325,000 as well. Other areas to consider would be Westchester, Kendall, and South Miami. Good luck with your move to Miami!

I agree with Doral and Miami Lakes, but I would also add Miami Springs. All nice, safe, and in your price range.

Check out Virginia Gardens. It's literally 5 minutes away from the airport.

Miami Springs is a nice neighborhood just north of the airport and has nice single-family homes. If you're looking for a single-family home try Doral, Virginia Gardens, and Miami Lakes are all very nice areas too and are all very close, but are suburban.

If you are looking for apartments or condos, try Fountainbleau (lots of nice, affordable apartment buildings) which is about 5 minutes south of MIA. Downtown and Brickell, are also very, very nice but are further away east.

How exciting!! I hope you are able to move to our wonderful city.. There are some great deals right now. With a family of 4, assuming you have children be sure to check out the school boundaries. If you are opposed to condo living, there are some nice older neighborhoods, like Kendall, offering single family homes or townhomes (Kendall Breeze) in the western suburbs but stay as close to the Turnpike as possible to avoid major traffic issues. Doral is just west of the airport but it is very congested and the schools are bursting at the seams. Good look in your homefinding efforts!
