I usually avoid it from May till September, but my son loves the Miami Metro zoo. We usually buy a yearly membership there. They were doing some new additions and I don't know if they're done yet, but I hope it is the next time we go again. I think you'll like it.

I really like Miami MetroZoo, it's very big though, so it's an all-day thing. Bring food and water as there's a lot to see. They just opened a new bird aviary I believe and they're working on another big project if I remember correctly.

We're going on Friday. I haven't been there in about a year, maybe longer. The last time I was there I saw they had removed one of the toddler playgrounds and replaced it with a splash pad area, a much better idea! Great way for the kids to cool off. Make sure they take bathing suits or something they can get wet in. It's across or catty-corner from the big kids' playground. They also have these multi-person bikes you can rent, those are fun. If you hoof it, it's a lot of walking, so wear comfy shoes. Have fun!

It's something I've been meaning to do as well. The last time I went to the zoo was in 1991--it's obviously changed quite a bit since then. Some man-made changes, others not (Andrew).

It's definitely an all-day trip. LOTS of walking. And I remember the days when you had to pay to ride the monorail.

They're supposed to be building a waterpark outside the zoo,I have no clue as to when it'll be completed as I've been hearing for over a year that they're taking bids for what company will run it.
