Just because some place is "cheap" doesn't make it the best choice. I have done interpretations in depositions where Estrella (the cheap place) will argue and stall to NO END in order to not pay a legitimate claim. They are the absolute worst company to get money out of, so PRAY that if you are in an accident and you are not at fault, that the other company is NOT Estrella. If your company is Estrella you will also be screwed. You really do get what you pay for, and in SOFLA there is no truely cheap car insurance company with all the insurance scams going on.

Try Amica, the #1 rated insurance company. Amica Insurance - Auto Insurance Quotes, Home Insurance Quotes, Life Insurance, Marine, and Personal Umbrella Liability Insurance Quotes 800-24-AMICA
I had the same problem and was insured with $Geico$
I called up consumer reports and they emailed me a report done a couple of years ago reviewing auto insurers and Amica topped the list.
It is a low key company and the Fl office is in Tampa.
They beat my $Geico rate by about a third.
The only drawback is that they insure perfect drivers, no exceptions. However, by next month they are expanding this to include everyone

very true, you cant get any cheaper or better than USAA. You can call them collect from anywhere in the world including Iraq and Afghanistan. Plus they give you global coverage and top of the line customer service. And theyve got an excellent bank. Whether youre an Army brat, current US military, or a Veteran, you qualify

I have GEICO nowadays, pay a decent rate, but did some quotes as I'm trading the car, and at Esurance they say it would be $380-390 per month for a relatively basic coverage. I quoted with Amica and they gave me a quote of more than $600 per month for also pretty basic coverage for two 'regular' new cars, with two drivers with perfect records. Estrella I looked up and it has a F rating on BBB, plus Chelito above basically confirmed that's not a good company with his review above. It's insane those prices.

Is it because it's SoFl, is that a major factor on the price? I'll just stay with GEICO I think, and continue to do quotes with other companies and see if I talk to a insurance agent face to face. I pay quite a bit less now for basically the same thing - only changing one of the cars.

USAA, definitely. Del Toro and Estrella wanted well over a 1000(6 month) 250-270 a month for a 17 year old car! Basic coverage! I was like wtf. Not to mention that 500 initial Vehicle Tag registration fee is insane. USAA for me, 450 6 months.
