Hello,

My husband got a job in ford dearborn. We will be shifting from a small town in Indiana state. We ae looking for apartments in the price range of $750 to $ 900. We would like to stay in areas near dearborn where there are many indians. I have heard farmington hills has many indians but it is a little far from dearborn. Any other suggestions?

It's a decent drive from Dearborn but it's more expensive. Try Hamtramck. It's only about a 15 minute drive.

There are many Indian families living in apartments (and homes) in Farmington Hills. There is a "little India" here; many stores that are uniquely serving the Indian community (groceries, etc) and those of us who love Indian restaurants.
Many commute to Dearborn . It's not a bad commute. My husband takes Hines Drive through the
park much of the way and finds it pleasant. No freeway driving and it takes about 45 minutes during rush hour.
Are schools a consideration for you?

I believe there are many Indian families in Canton, as well. It's probably a shorter commute.

I'd guess Asian-Indian. Think about it. Working at the Ford HQ in Dearborn? He's probably an engineer of some sort, like most Indians I meet here in the States.

Thanks for the info mgkeith. But we dont have children so schools are not a consideration for a few more years.

You are very welcome. Well, I guess you need to decide how important it really is to you, to live in the areas with large Indian populations vs short commute. If it matters, I was just told that the commute is closer to 40 minutes .
Feel free to ask me any further questions and I`ll do my best to help.

Commute will depend on where in Canton and where in Dearborn. Our daughter makes it from Lyon Township to The Henry Ford in about 40 minutes (maybe a tad less sometimes). I think Canton is closer.
