Yeah, but think of how many Obamabucks we can get and how many make-a-jobs he can tout in the next election.

Yeah, I don't see the sense in it, but you can't fault someone for thinking of ideas. The proposed international crossing in Detroit is supposedly going to cost $5 Billion for about 2 miles. At $2.5 Billion/mile, a bridge across Lake Michigan would be what, $150 Billion? And as others have said, it would connect two virtually remote areas of the country, Northern Michigan and Northern Wisconsin.

Line that thing with wind turbines to help pay for it and then maybe you're on to something!

LOL, like I said, I'll fail spectacularly before I can come up with something useful.

You folks know more about my new home than I do. I'm willing to make myself look a fool for a good cause, and I'm loyal as the day is long. So, Michigan is my new baby.... I'm not under the illusion that I'm going to actually solve the state's problems, but caring, initiative, attention... they rarely hurt, and sometimes, with a little luck, they help.

I can't help comparing Michigan to other northern border states that 10 years ago seemed to be on the ropes, and now are experiencing a renaissance. While they may not be a peninsula, they too have issues with roads, snow, transportation, and didn't have much economy in their more rural areas. As these states enjoy an economic upswing, it may be a wave that Michigan can ride as well.

Bear with me, and keep educating me. I believe in how, not can't. And I believe in Michigan.
