We have lived in Farmington for the past 8 years and I have got used to the city and love it. I have a daughter who will be going to Kindergarten next year and now I am thinking if the school district is good enough. Or, should we move to Novi.

We come to Forest elementary. Which is good. But I am worried about Warner upper and Dunckel middle. I hope they will get better by the time my daughter comes to upper elementary. But my husband wants to move to Novi, he thinks Novi schools are better. I do not want to, as I think Farmington schools are good too.

Please share your views, it will be very helpful

Thanks

I am not familiar personally with those schools but if you have concern about the middle/high I would look at that now. Yes you can be hopeful that things can get better but who knows. It would be harder for yoru child to change schools in middle then now. Maybe you can speak to some parents in Novi disctrict

I know people who have graduated from Farmington and people who have graduated from Novi. All have gone on to great colleges. However, I do think Novi is a little better and more recognized, but is not as diverse and is also more expensive.

Definitely Novi schools. Novi schools are better nowadays.

Twenty years ago, it would have been Farmington schools, but Novi has improved and Farmington has gotten worse.
