I was wondering if anyone would have a rough idea what it would cost to replace the roof on my house and pole barn. (I have not lived in Michigan that long) I figure about 37 squares with higher quality shingles. Very simple roof lines. No valleys - just straight roofing.

Not a professional, but a 800 square foot house is usually $4500-$6000. I think that is about 15-17 squares?

THe pole barn isn't a metal roof?

The pole barn is asphalt shingles. I was hoping the cost would be $16,000 or less for both the house and the pole barn (30 X 40)

You might get it done for that budget.

Figure install at about $4000 (maybe a bit higher here) and just shingles at about $80 per square. Depends on other materials that could run a couple thousand too, so $16k you should be safe unless you want really high end shingles.

Prices could drop with lower oil prices and their impact on asphalt and then shingles prices too.
