Thanks again for the great suggestions. I think she has found a situation in Ann Arbor, living with a friend of a friend and a few other girls in an off campus apartment after another girl backed out at the last minute to live at home with her parents. It won't be as close as something in Brighton or Howell, obviously, but it will still be at least half an hour closer to work, much more reasonable than trying to rent a place of her own, and she can save gas by walking to a lot of things as opposed to having to drive everywhere.
