Hello, this question may get me nowhere but there really isn't any particular information on the web that covers this. A relative of mine had got a car and within two weeks got into a single car accident. The worst part of it is she didn't have insurance yet and chose to drive the car. She was pretty messed up and ended up staying in the hospital for about a week. So getting to the question... Obviously car insurance isn't on the hook here but will medical coverage(BCBS) cover at least some of the costs? As far as I know they are declining to cover anything at this time. Thanks in advance for any help on this..

Something doesn't have sense: BC/BS does cover auto accidents (may be a high deductible plan). Also, how was the car registered and financed without insurance?

As car as I know, medical costs associated with any vehicular accident are covered by auto insurance. Our oldest was a pedestrian in Miami and hit by a car while crossing the street in a marked Cross-Walk.

His auto insurance policy paid his bills.

Michigan does have an Uninsured Motorist program, but that is to pay costs of people who suffer a loss because of an Uninsured Motorist, not the bills of the uninsured who knowlingly broke a State Law.
