Can anyone tell me what the crime is like in Bay City?

I grew up there back in the 50's/60's/70's but left in 1975 so it's been a long time since I had much of a personal experience with Bay City. I kept in touch with family members but they are mostly gone now so I don't have anyone to ask.

I'd appreciate any feedback.

It’s an average post-industrial Midwest city. Not super dangerous but there is a dose of drug use and obnoxiousness. I think most of the crime is contained within groups so if you’re not into drugs or domestic abuse you’ll probably be fine.

In my view, if you are not into drugs you are pretty much safe.

IMO, The only real crime in Bay City, are the people that manage the city.

Bay City is a safe community IMO. That being said, there was a small increase in gun crime over the winter. A number of victimless shootings occurred. I do not think that it is a trend which is likely to continue. Crime tends to appear streaky because of the small sample size.

The city police have a FaceBook page where they regularly post blurbs and crime stats. It's worth looking into.

I have a feeling the shootings were all one person, too. They were clustered together over two days and roughly in the same part of town. Still dangerous obviously, as a stray bullet can end a life, but I don't think it's gang violence or anything systemic like that. Probably some drunk kid thinking he's being funny.
