Burglaries have gone from 2 in 2001 to 23 in 2006! That's a 1000% increase!

The Crime-Index went from 36.7 in 2001 to 80.2 in 2006! More than doubled!

I understand that this is still way below national average but what gives?
Are we to expect and tolerate increased crime in the suburbs nowadays...just because?

It's probably not about tolerating it. I daresay the heroin plague has finally established itself in family-oriented Northville. Where 'Lady H' goes, she brings with her an army of B&E artists.

Crime is rising everywhere in the state. When we were arranging my dad's funeral in Ann Arbor in May, the salegirl advised us not to order a permanent metal vase for the headstone. All the ones there already have been stolen.
