Shooting a person may not be needed. Many times just pointing a gun at a bad guy and showing him you mean business is enough. If it DID come down to shooting him, Well then better he's dead than me. I will take my chances with the prosecutors office and a jury. Better judged by 12 than carried out by 6.

What I don't like is this assumption that this poster is going to be dense enough to let him get that close to her. Hell, getting a PPO against his sleazy butt may be enough to land him back in the slam!!!

I don't think she is dense at all. No one would "let" a known danger get close to them. However, unless there happens to be a cop standing right there, or a private citizen willing to help, how exactly would she stop him without a means to protect herself? A sad fact, but this sort of thing happens everyday.

Ok here's my story. I'm 20 years old and living on my own, about 3 years ago I moved from a small northern city to Saginaw, I'm all about seeing the best in people but living here makes me consider rethinking everything.

To make a long story short, I was recently creeped out by a guy. I barely know him and he knows a-lot about me, where I work, live, my car etc. and I NEVER told him anything about me and neither has anyone I know. I don't want to reveal too much information in case he ends up finding this. This guy gives me the chills, really my "weirdo radar" is screaming at me to look him up on the Michigan State Police Sex Offenders List, but the page won't download. I've tried it on Modzilla, and Internet Explorer. I'm headed to the local State Police Post to file a report just in case, but I still would like to know in case they won't be able to tell me anything.

I do know some info on the creeper, I had a friend of a friend who has a son who is a trooper- big no no but it was a much appreciated favor - look him up. My friend said this guy has 5 felony's against him and that he's a very, very bad man. He must be, the only felony I could get my friend to tell me about was Assault and Battery charges. So it really freaks me out.

So here's my question, does anyone know any sex offender or offender databases that are FREE? I think it's ridiculous that I have to spend $10 to see some psycho's profile so that I can be aware of what's out there! Can anyone please help me?

I only know 1 of 5 felonies against this scumbag I want to know if he is a sex offender, so I can prepare myself for what could happen. I've taken self-defense classes in the past and know how to take care of myself so I'll be fine, but I still want to know.

Thank You!!!

You completely missed the point. As I said, pointing it at them MAY be enough to send them running. However, if you are in enough danger that you have to draw your weapon, you must be prepared mentally and physically to use it. If you are not then leave it at home.

Once you pull that gun, you better be ready to kill.
