Living in ST. Joe, next to the most hellish ghetto in the state of Michigan, sucks. Especially when ST. JOE offers NO SOCIAL SERVICES and forces everyone to go to the MOST BURNED OUT PART OF THE BENTON HARBOR GHETTO who needs help. To be poor in St. Joe is to be in HELL. I know I have GOT TO GET OUT OF HERE else I end up having a life like I did in Chicago.

I get sick of the political correct BS, when people get mad and say hey you racist, I dont care what color anyone is. The race card baiters will claim you are racist, just because you dont want to get your head shot off, or get robbed or raped or live next to a bunch of drug dealers. I am sure decent folks of a certain persuasion, think the ghetto sucks too.
You recognize the ghetto is scary. Think about the people who have to live there EVERY DAY, who have no way out.

I know it would not pay most bills, but it was still a job.
That is the thing. Many jobs that are there DON'T pay all of the bills. People who often say they can't find good jobs are looking for work that will pay ALL of the bills.

And don't forget the next round of Detroit riots, in '69 or was it '70. Not quite the Summer of Love.

In many ways, Detroit's quandary has a slight resemblance to the break up of former Yugoslavia. I will explain later because I have class in 5 minutes.

I forgot to come back to this statement. What I wanted to say is that Detroit's quandary has some slight resemblance to the break-up of former Yugoslavia in this way: Ethnic tension was coming to a head and it got to the point where violence came about over and over. No kind of cooperation on any end. In the end, the results were really sad. If you look at Sarajevo and Detroit, both cities were basically destroyed, mainly because of ethnic tensions. Look at Kragujevac and Detroit. Both cities were known for producing cars and weapons. Now both cities are suffering badly. That is how the situation in Detroit bears a slight resemblance to what has happened in former Yugoslavia. Ethnic strife, violence, and the aftermath of it.
